Get ready to sink your teeth into our delicious Vegan Lentil Patty Burger! With a spicy kick from our homemade Siracha Tahini Sauce and a hearty lentil patty, this burger is a must-try for vegans and non-vegans alike.
Ingredients for the Lentil Patties
1 cup of cooked lentils
1/2 cup of cooked quinoa
1/2 cup of bread crumbs
1/4 cup of finely chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tbsp of ground flaxseed
1 tbsp of water
1 tsp of cumin
1 tsp of smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1-2 tbsp of olive oil (for pan-frying)
Ingredients for the Siracha Tahini Sauce1/4 cup of tahini
2 tbsp of lime juice
2 tbsp of water
1 tbsp of soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
1 tbsp of maple syrup
1 tbsp of sriracha hot sauce
Ingredients for ServingBurger buns
Lettuce, tomato, onion, and any other toppings of your choice
Choped potatoes seasones with herbs of your choice fried in olive oil
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked lentils, quinoa, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
In a small bowl, combine the ground flaxseed and water to make a flax egg. Add the mixture to the bowl with the lentil mixture and stir well.
Form the mixture into four burger patties.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Transfer the patties to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes to finish cooking through.
While the burgers are baking, prepare the sriracha tahini sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, lime juice, water, soy sauce, maple syrup, and sriracha until smooth.
Toast the burger buns.
Chop the potatoes and add olive oil to non-stick skillet, fry them, once potatoes turn alike brownish colour seasoned them with choiced herbs and salt.
Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the sriracha tahini sauce.
