Sea Buckthorn Kombucha is a refreshingly tart and fizzy drink that's packed with probiotics and antioxidants. This recipe combines sea buckthorn juice with green tea and kombucha SCOBY for a healthy, fermented beverage.
Ingredients
6 tea bags of organic green tea
1/2 cup sea buckthorn juice
1/2 cup kombucha SCOBY
2 cups filtered water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup starter tea (from previous batch of kombucha)
Instructions
Boil 2 cups of water in a pot.
Add 6 organic green tea bags and let steep for 5-7 minutes.
Remove the tea bags and add the sugar, stirring until it dissolves.
Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
In a glass jar, mix the tea, sea buckthorn juice, kombucha SCOBY, and starter tea.
Cover the jar with a cheesecloth or a coffee filter and secure it with a rubber band.
Let the mixture ferment in a dark corner for 7-10 days, until it reaches the desired tartness.
Once fermented, remove the SCOBY and pour the kombucha into glass bottles. Store the bottles in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
